Advance knowledge of space weather events can make missions aware of impending activity and help trouble-shoot any related anomalous spacecraft behavior. Though email alerts to the Mars mission teams, MAVEN is providing an early warning of these events by using solar and heliospheric observations and models to routinely monitor space weather.
